Tasting Notes: Yosemite View 2009 Chardonnay

Tasting Notes: Yosemite View 2009 Chardonnay.

Yosemite View is actually a newer label for me, and I can’t claim to be well versed in their wines. Yosemite View is a second label of CRU, which makes exceptional wines. This bottle was opened July 2012. It is a buttery Chardonnay, no surprises, and a good example of a typical Monterey Chardonnay. The nose is overwhelmingly peachy. It’s peach season, so I’m fine with this – a summer and sunshine Chardonnay.  Again, peach and also a little green apple on the palate. There’s no bite in this, but it isn’t so buttery that it clings to the tongue.  This would be a good wine to serve to someone who is a neophyte oenophile and doesn’t know it yet. A nice balanced finish. 14.5% alcohol. I found the fact sheet here. The retail price on is $14.00 – a bargain for a solid wine.
